Elective - Open to all Juniors and Seniors
Elective Grades 11, 12 2 semesters level 2
This course will discuss the physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development of the child from conception through adolescence. Emphasis will be placed on understanding children and their behavior. Topics such as alcoholism, child abuse and neglect, gender differences, intelligence testing, sibling relationships, nutrition, and parenting styles will be addressed. This course will benefit those interested in early childhood education, psychology, social work, or any profession relating to people.
Each girl in the class is responsible to take care of the RealCare Baby for one weekend. The girls log their experiences during the weekend. To learn more about the RealCare Baby, click onto the website.
