Application Process

Apply

Students looking to gain admittance to 9th grade for the 2017-2018 school year were asked to complete an online application by Friday, October 21, 2016 at noon. Any 8th grader still interested in admission should call the Admissions Office at (215) 646-8815 ext. 306 to discuss late applicant options. The application for the 2018-2019 school year will be available beginning August 1, 2017.

Request Materials

Request the following information from your present school:

  • An unofficial copy of your daughter's academic transcript that should include all marks and standardized test scores
  • At least one recommendation from a teacher who knows the applicant especially well and can speak to her academic ability and character

*Additional recommendations are not required but will be considered

The 2017-2018 materials deadline was Friday, October 21, 2016. Transfer and late applicants should contact the Admissions Office for copies of our forms. For both 9th grade and transfer applicants, an Admissions decision cannot be made until we have received all materials. The application and materials deadline for 2018-2019 applicants is Friday, October 20, 2017.

Register for the Exam

Register to take the Entrance-Scholarship Exam* on Saturday, October 21, 2017 by completing your online application before the deadline. There is no separate registration form for the Exam. You will receive an email before the test weekend to remind you of the following details:

  • The exam begins at 9:00 A.M. and is scheduled to end at 12:30 P.M.
  • Students should bring two #2 pencils. NO calculators are permitted.
  • Students will be asked to write a short essay on the day of the exam.
*An alternate date is available for the Entrance-Scholarship Exam on Sunday, October 22, 2017 at the same time.


Transfers and late applicants will take a modified test that will be scheduled on an individual basis with the Admissions Office.

Financial Aid

8th graders applying to Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School can submit a Financial Aid/Tuition Assistance application beginning August 1. Any prospective student who wishes to be considered for Financial Aid/Tuition Assistance, must submit a completed Financial Aid for School Tuition (FAST) application with all supporting documents by Wednesday, October 25, 2017. If the applicant meets this deadline, decisions about financial awards will be communicated before the Confirmation Deadline.

All returning Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School families and transfer students will apply for Financial Aid starting in January, each year.

Transfer or Late Registration

Transfer Student Inquiry Form

Unless they have previously applied and been accepted to Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School, students who are interested in transferring to Gwynedd will be asked to take an Entrance Exam, which will be scheduled on an individual basis upon receipt of an application, transcript, and teacher recommendation.

Freshman Late Applicant Inquiry Form

Any student who would like to be considered for late admission as a freshman, and misses the Entrance-Scholarship Exam in October, will be asked to take our modified Entrance Exam, unless she has taken the HSPT at another private, all-girls school. Late applicants will also submit all other required Admissions documentation.
