The Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School Arts festival is held in May. The festival highlights visual art exhibits of portfolio work from 9th - 12th grade art majors. Musical performances feature: Glee Club, Chorale, Soloists, Orchestra and dancers.
This year, the Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School Arts Festival will be held on Friday May 15, 2015. The art exhibit reception begins at 6:00p.m. and musical performances begin at 7:00p.m.
The visual art exhibit features portfolio work from 9th- 12th grade art majors. Students will display their best artwork from a myriad of media. The art scholars’ displays will inhabit the front lobby, seniors and juniors will be set-up in the glass corridor, and sophomores and freshmen will be in the yellow hallway. Students will also display projects from photography and graphic design classes. Awards certificates will be given by a local professional artist. Please join us and learn more about the arts curriculum at GMAHS! The art exhibit opens at 6:00p.m.
Last year's Arts Festival Concert, An International Festival of Music, included works performed by the GMA Glee Club, Chorale, Orchestra, String Ensemble, the Mercy Melismatics, Girls with Guitars, dancers and various vocal and instrumental soloists and select ensembles. The Concert featured an exciting selection of international vocal, instrumental, classical, popular, Broadway and contemporary favorites from around the world. The students worked especially hard to prepare vocal texts in several different languages including Spanish, French, German, Italian, Hungarian and even African Zulu!
Showtime this year is 7:00 p.m. and admission is free. We hope you will plan to attend this memorable evening of song and dance!
