EITC and OSTC
Now it’s easier than ever to donate PA tax dollars to scholarships for Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School students! If you own or work in a business that pays Pennsylvania corporate taxes, please consider the EITC and OSTC PA tax programs. The EITC (Educational Improvement Tax Credit) and OSTC (Opportunity Scholarship Tax Credit) are state programs that allow your business to redirect tax dollars to Gwynedd in support of academic scholarships for qualified students.
What's the benefit for my business? One-time donors receive a 75% PA tax credit and donors who commit to two consecutive year gifts qualify for a 90% PA tax credit.
INDIVIDUAL TAX DONATIONS
Do you pay Pennsylvania income taxes? Why not donate them to Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School? As you know, businesses can redirect their state tax dollars to Gwynedd Mercy Academy through the Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) and Opportunity Scholarship Tax Credit (OSTC) programs.
Now, individuals who pay personal income tax can redirect up to 100% of their personal state tax bill to Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School through the same programs by joining BLOCS. A two-year commitment will get you a 90% credit on state taxes owed. The 10% not included in the tax credit may be claimed as a charitable donation on your federal tax return.
How do I apply? Contact Jeannine Hartz at 215-646-8815, ext 412 who will arrange a conversation with a member of BLOCS or with Teresa Araco Rodgers '91, Board of Trustee member and EITC donor.
When can I apply?: All NEW applications are due July 3, 2017 and renewal applications are due beginning May 15, 2017.
