Strategic Plan

In 2018, the Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School community embarked on an ambitious journey to imagine what our school could become. Through a strategic visioning process, we launched She is the Future, where hundreds of voices came together to dream boldly about the future of our school. Together, we imagined new possibilities, challenged ourselves to think differently, and created a roadmap that has shaped one of the most dynamic and successful chapters in our school's 165-year history.

We dreamed.

Today, we witness the impact of that work within our community and across the globe. We have strengthened  academic and personal development programs, created experiential opportunities for students, enhanced our campus facilities and resources, deepened connections among students, alumnae, families, and friends of Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School, and cultivated relationships with fellow Mercy schools both nationally and internationally. In the process, we have built best-in-class momentum that continues to propel Gwynedd Mercy forward.

We achieved.

As stewards of a place that is more than a school, but a home, a sanctuary, a family, and a legacy, we recognize that the work of preparing young women to lead lives of purpose and impact requires a forward leaning look into the future. At Gwynedd Mercy, we invest in the success of each individual student and nurture the Mercy community that connects us across generations.

Since 1861, we have been entrusted to carry forward the gift of Mercy. As our world evolves at a staggering pace, so too must our understanding of how best to educate, inspire, and empower the students who will shape tomorrow.

Building on the groundbreaking work from She is the Future, we are excited to announce that the GMAHS Board of Trustees and Administration Leadership Team are launching a new strategic planning process that will help guide Gwynedd Mercy's next chapter.

The Board and the Administration are energized by this opportunity to build on the incredibly strong foundation afforded us from the She is the Future strategic plan and execution. Since She is the Future, we have learned, grown, and evolved as a community. Now, we have the opportunity to build upon our accomplishments, examine the opportunities and challenges before us, and imagine how Gwynedd Mercy can continue to lead with excellence, innovation, and Mercy for generations to come.

NOW, WE DREAM BIGGER.

The GMAHS Board of Trustees and Administration are always thinking about how to make Gwynedd Mercy High School better – for the students, families and the broader community.  This journey started in the Fall of 2025, when school leadership and the Board of Trustees initiated the strategic planning process, thoughtfully identifying the qualities most important in a partner, and evaluating firms with the expertise to guide Gwynedd Mercy through this important work. Through that reflective process, we identified a path and partner that align with our mission, values, and aspirations for the future.

To facilitate this work, Gwynedd Mercy has partnered with Concentrics, a nationally respected consulting firm with extensive experience guiding independent schools through inclusive and mission-centered strategic planning processes. Their team will help us gather perspectives from across our community and ensure that every voice has the opportunity to contribute to this important effort.

The first opportunity to engage will be a series of facilitated community conversations this fall. These sessions will invite participants to reflect on Gwynedd Mercy's strengths, identify opportunities and challenges, and help shape a vision that honors our mission while preparing us for the years ahead.

Together, we will assess our progress, celebrate our achievements, and envision an even stronger future for the young women who will follow in the footsteps of generations of Gwynedd Mercy alumnae.
