Gwynedd Guide

Walk Around Gwynedd

Welcome to Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School, located in Gwynedd Valley, PA!  A Gwynedd Girl is an educated, inspired, and empowered young woman, ready for her future!  Our Monarchs hail from 65 schools,  17 School Districts, 56 zip codes, and 5 counties (including NJ).  We can’t wait to welcome future monarchs to our red and gold corridors!  Let’s take a look around.

Every day, Gwynedd Girls enter school and are reminded how they are forever a part of the Circle of Mercy. Gwynedd Girls participate in 13 Varsity sports, 16 Music and Arts organizations, and over 70 clubs and activities.

Founded in 1861 by the Sisters of Mercy, Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School is an all-girls, Catholic, independent school. Our chapel hosts some of our most beloved Gwynedd traditions.

Welcome to the Gold Corridor! On our gold corridor you will find the admissions, marketing, ministry and service offices as well as theology, language, business, and psychology classes.

Our state-of-the-art STEM labs were completed in the Fall of 2018 and host our biology, chemistry, physics, genealogy, anatomy, and forensic science courses.

At the end of gold corridor you will enter our fine arts wing. Our art studio includes a classroom area in addition to project areas including pottery, photography, sewing, painting, ceramics, and more! In the summertime, you can catch a glimpse of our Monarch butterfly garden which is directly behind the art classroom.

Our music ampitheater gives student-musicians the opportunity to fine tune their skills. Gwynedd Girls participate in a variety of music programs from private instruction, to a capella performances, to the fall musical.

The Learning Commons is a student-centered, collaborative learning space comprised of a Mac lab, Dell desktop breakout study rooms for group work, and our technology department offices.

Gwynedd Girls are well versed in the latest technology software and have the opportunity to take a variety of classes in coding, graphic design, and computer science (among other courses).

In the Learning Commons you will also find our robotics team, yearbook preparation, and printing stations where students can print course work (for free) with their student ID.

Welcome to the Red Corridor! On this corridor you'll find the chemistry lab, math, english, and history classes, and GMA-TV!

Fun Fact: Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School shared the building with the elementary school until 1984 which is why lockers run the entire length of the red corridor. Gwynedd Mercy Academy Elementary School, fully independent from GMAHS, now resides on Norristown Road.

The Counseling Department is comprised of two offices: School Counseling and College Counseling. Our school counselors work with students and families to provide academic coaching, emotional support, goal setting, and problem-solving strategies. Emphasis is placed on the premise that a student is in control of her decisions and uses her knowledge to accomplish desired outcomes. Students meet with their college counselor at each step of the process. Our college counselors guide students through the college application process from start to finish. Advising and programming will meet students at each step of the college process.

In addition to advising and support, students and families can attend multiple programs sponsored by our school counselors and college counselors throughout the year.

The entire Gwynedd community knows that Chef Craig, Chef Ryan, and Sue are the best culinary team around! Brock Food Services provides daily breakfast and lunch menus for Gwynedd Girls in addition to a full salad bar, grab-and-go options, coffee, and snacks. You can always bring your lunch and heat something up in the microwave or toaster. Every Friday is tech-free which means students turn off their laptops and participate in various games like trivia or dance-dance revolution.

The gymnasium is always full of Mercy spirit...Mercy Mania, winter formal, gym classes, sporting events, and our annual alumnae fundraiser!

Our 550-seat Performing Arts Center, completed in 2004, is home to our annual Fall Musical, Spring Arts Festival, liturgies, and the most beloved tradition - Graduation.

Thank you for joining us for our "Circle Around Gwynedd Mercy". You are the future!

We look forward to welcoming you onto our campus soon!
