7th grade students whose local percentiles rank in the top 20% of the students that sit for Gwynedd's 7th Grade Practice Test will qualify to be in the Accelerated Scholars Program (ASP) at Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School. The benefit of this program is that students will complete the acceptance process at an accelerated rate and will be considered for a one-year partial scholarship to Gwynedd. In addition, these scholars will be invited to the Gwynedd Summit, held on campus over the summer (free of charge), where they will be asked to submit a reflection to be considered for the scholarship award.
Students will still need to complete the regular Admissions process, including taking the Entrance-Scholarship Exam and submitting the application, recommendation form, and transcripts. Any student who qualifies for ASP will receive an Admissions decision with her 8th Grade Entrance-Scholarship Exam score report.
Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School hosts an annual two-day leadership conference known as the Gwynedd Summit. The Summit is free of charge and open to all 7th grade students who sit for Gwynedd's 7th Grade Practice Test in the spring, and who are interested in attending Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School. Seats are limited. Students who qualify for our Accelerated Scholars Program (ASP) based on their scores from the 7th Grade Practice Test have access to a special pre-registration for the Gwynedd Summit. This exciting two-day event is filled with opportunities for students to engage in meaningful conversation with successful alumnae, participate in hands-on activities, and learn about various career paths through interactive sessions.
