8th Grade Applicants

Step 1: Complete the Online Application
The application for the Class of 2030 (rising 8th grade girls) will open on August 1, 2025 and close on October 3, 2025.
All applicants must complete the online application in our Admissions Portal. There is a $60 fee for all applicants.
An application must first be submitted to access the admissions checklist*, which will enable you to register for the Entrance-Scholarship exam, schedule an 8th Grade Visitation Day, and submit supplemental materials, including the Teacher Recommendation and School Records Request. *All applications will be moved forward by the Admissions office before access to the checklist is granted.

Step 2: Submit Recommendation & Records Requests
As part of the online application process, please be sure to request academic transcripts from your current school. These can typically be submitted by a current school administrator, principal, or counselor.
In addition, please complete the Recommendation Form checklist item to request one academic recommendation. This form should be sent to a teacher who knows the applicant especially well and can speak to her academic ability and character. Only one academic recommendation is required for an application.
Before submitting the request, we ask that you have a personal conversation with the teacher completing your recommendation to ensure they are prepared and willing to do so/aware of the request.
Step 3: Register for the Entrance-Scholarship Exam
Applicants for the Class of 2030 are required to take the Entrance-Scholarship Exam at Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School to be considered for a scholarship. Those who do not sit for the entrance exam at Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School may submit HSPT scores (to AdmissionsDept@gmahs.org) from another all-girls school to complete the admissions application.
Applicants who require extended time (and can provide documentation for approval) will note that in their exam registration. Please submit documentation to Lisa Spleen, Director of Catherine Learning Program (lspleen@gmahs.org).

Gwynedd Mercy offers renewable scholarships to qualifying applicants who take the Entrance-Scholarship Exam at Gwynedd Mercy.
When completing the application, applicants must note if they wish to be considered for an Art, Music, Legacy, or STEM scholarship.

We are committed to providing a quality education for young women of all economic backgrounds.
The financial aid application for the 2026-2027 school year will open in September 2025. The deadline to apply is October 15, 2025.
Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School is proud to use the Clarity Application to determine a family’s level of financial need based on the information that families share in the application which includes assets, income, expenses, and debts.
To get started, please go to the Clarity Application and create an account. The application typically takes less than 30 minutes to complete. The Clarity Application is also mobile-friendly, so you can complete it from anywhere. You are also able to save your progress and return at any time. At the end of the application, there is a $60 fee to submit, and you can share your application with additional schools that accept the Clarity Application for no additional charge. Simply use the dropdown menu in the application to select those schools.

- Registration for the Entrance-Scholarship Exam and 8th Grade Visitation Days is available through the Admissions Portal Checklist after your application has been submitted.
September 2025 - Financial Aid Application Opens

Transfer Students
If you are interested in transferring for the 2026-2027 school year, please reach out to AdmissionsDept@gmahs.org to check availability.
Those wishing to transfer to Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School must apply via the Admissions Portal.
Unless they have previously applied and been accepted to Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School, students who are interested in transferring to Gwynedd will be asked to take a modified Entrance Exam, which will be scheduled on an individual basis upon receipt of an application, transcript, and teacher recommendation.

Request the following information from your present school:
- An unofficial copy of your daughter's academic transcript that should include all marks and standardized test scores
- One recommendation from a teacher who knows the applicant especially well and can speak to her academic ability and character. Your recommendation request will be sent as part of your application.
All application materials are submitted via the Admissions Portal.
An Admissions decision cannot be made until we have received all materials.
Step 4: Submit Additional Academic Documents
Catherine Learning Program Applicants
The CLP is designed for motivated, college-bound students with documented mild learning differences who are ready to engage in a structured, skill-building environment. Enrollment in the program requires a minimum two-year commitment, including at least one year of part-time support before exit.
Please note: Submission of documentation and/or expression of interest in the Catherine Learning Program does not impact a student’s chance of admission to Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School. Admission decisions are made independently of CLP consideration.

Step 3: Submit Documentation for CLP Application
Admission to the Catherine Learning Program (CLP) is a collaborative and thoughtful process designed to ensure that each student is a strong fit for the program’s structure and support model. Once accepted to Gwynedd, families who noted interest in CLP will participate in a secondary review process led by the Director of the Catherine Learning Program. This includes the submission and review of at least one of the following sources of documentation:
- A neuropsychological or psychoeducational evaluation providing clear evidence of diagnosis and suggested educational supports (completed within three years of application; typically conducted by a private evaluator)
- A Multidisciplinary/Act 89 evaluation from a local school district or intermediate unit (completed within three years of application)
- A clinical or medical report from an appropriate medical professional (completed within one year of application)
This documentation may be followed by a parent meeting and/or student interview to further assess the student’s learning profile, goals, and potential fit for the program.
