COACH CHARLIE BALL GP’27, HEAD COACH

Charlie Ball is the Head Coach of the Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School Softball program and has led the team for 15 years. He brings over 40 years of coaching experience, with previous coaching roles in the Harleysville and Thunderbirds softball programs. Coach Ball has guided teams to compete in multiple national tournaments, win several Pennsylvania state tournaments, and qualify for the District 1 playoffs.

Coach Ball’s coaching philosophy focuses on developing well-rounded players who understand all aspects of the game. He values the positive attitude and gratitude shown by both athletes and staff at Gwynedd Mercy Academy and enjoys passing down his knowledge and love for softball. Outside of coaching, family is central to Coach Ball’s life, and he is proud to have served in the United States Navy and to have played softball both in the U.S. and overseas.

COACH HAILEE WEISS ’20, ASSISTANT COACH

Hailee Weiss is an Assistant Coach for the Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School Softball program and is in her second year with the team. She coached softball for approximately two years and has also worked with a travel softball program. Coach Weiss played collegiate softball at The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. She is currently pursuing a Master of Science degree in Forensic Science at Arcadia University, with graduation expected in May 2026.

Coach Weiss takes pride in helping athletes grow and improve, and one of her favorite aspects of coaching is seeing individual development over the course of a season. Her coaching philosophy emphasizes effort, teamwork, and maintaining a passion for the game. She enjoys the collaborative and positive environment within the Gwynedd Mercy softball program and values working alongside athletes and fellow coaches. A proud alumna, Coach Weiss attended and played softball at Gwynedd Mercy Academy, graduating in 2020.
