MERCY DAY On Monday, Sept. 23, Mercy Day festivities began with the Freshmen sleepover and ended with the Senior class winning the class activities in the PAC. On Tuesday, Sept. 24, alumnae mothers were invited to join the Gwynedd community by celebrating a beautiful liturgy that included a vow renewal for the Sisters of Mercy. After liturgy, the student representatives for the 2019-2020 school year were installed in front of their classmates. The Mercy Day celebrations were the perfect way to celebrate the founding of the Sisters of Mercy on Baggot St. over 180 years ago! For more photos of Mercy Day click on the link below.

JOIN THE SWARM Our Soccer Team created an "all sport spirit t-shirt" to be worn at all athletic events. The shirts are available through the Athletic Office for $15 each during lunch periods. Coach Gretta, the Varsity Field Hockey Coach at Merion Mercy, was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 metastatic breast cancer at the early age of 32. Our alum and Varsity Field Hockey Coach, Alex McMahan '05 initiated a pink t-shirt to be worn during warmups of league hockey games to help with the burden of Gretta's overwhelming medical expenses. The soccer team asked that the proceeds from the "Swarm" t-shirts go to Coach Gretta as well. True "Mercy in Action" by both our field hockey and soccer teams!!
For more information on how to get a "Swarm" t-shirt, please email Mrs. Fasano at tfasano@gmahs.org. |
