Last weekend the Speech and Debate team competed in the State Tournament held at Bloomsburg University.

Congratulations to all the young ladies that qualified to compete at the tournament. Particular kudos to Meghan Dutill '19, semi-finalist (top 12) in Prose, Victoria Borlando '19, quarter- finalist (top 24) in Impromptu--the largest event, Sahiba Tandon '21, 5th place in Informative, and Sarah McLauglin '19 who placed 3rd in Persuasive!

Coach Cory Clark Shay '95 received a very special honor as she was inducted into the Pennsylvania High School Speech League Hall of Fame.

The team was also pleased to welcome two former teammates to assist with judging, alumnae Maggie Blosky '17 and Catherine Reed '17.

Well done, Ladies! Congratulations to all!

SKATING TO JUNIOR WORLDS

We celebrate another award-winning Monarch, Kylie Saloma '18, whose synchronized skating team won the Silver Medal in the World Figure Skating Championship in Croatia and is now headed to Junior Worlds. We couldn't agree more with Mrs. Conaway who shared, "We are so blessed at Gwynedd to have so many talented young ladies!" Congratulations, Kylie!

We will be hosting a Father/Daughter outing to the Phillies' Game on May 12 at 7:00 PM.

The Phillies are playing the NY Mets, and we want to go cheer them on. There is nothing like a warm Spring night at the ballpark with our daughters.

We will be setting up either a tailgate or a picnic at the park before the game. Please use this SignUp Genius if you are interested so we can get a rough count of folks that want to go.

Once we get an estimated count, we can determine what the tickets will cost.

Any questions, please contact Mike O'Malley at mike.omalley@simp-inc.com.

COMMUNITY NEWS

Sponsored by Ambler Kiwanis, in conjunction with the Lower Gwynedd Police Department and Wissahickon School District:

Parents are invited to this event that will provide a unique insight into the mind of a teenager. Drop in to the Wissahickon High School auditorium Thursday, April 19, anytime between 6-8PM. This program will show you what to look for in a teen's room that may be an indicator of drug use, abuse, or poor decision making. This is an integral step in identifying troubling behavior before crisis occurs.  Please use this information to initiate conversations with your children. However, this program is for adults only.
