While our students and families enjoy spring break this week, the Messenger had intended to take a hiatus, as well, but there is so much exciting news to share, we couldn't wait to share it with all of you!

As a member of The Forum of Executive Women (FOEW), President Denise Marbach '72 joined dozens of women from around the state in the State Capitol Rotunda in Harrisburg on March 27 to show support for passage of Senate Resolution 255, which was sponsored by Senator Judith L. Schwank (D-Berks). The resolution urges privately held and publicly traded companies and nonprofit institutions doing business in Pennsylvania to have a minimum of 30 percent women directors by December 31, 2020 and measure their progress toward equal representation of men and women in leadership positions on an annual basis.
PRESIDENT'S TEA President Denise Marbach looks forward to welcoming and getting to know more of our Gwynedd families. The next morning tea with Denise and fellow parents is scheduled for April 25 at 8am.

They will spend this week working with Mercy Beyond Borders as they journey to various parts of the countryside to provide service to those in need. Day 1: We have arrived! CREW PROGRAM INFORMATION SESSION: APRIL 19 An information session will be held on April 19 at 6:30PM for all students and parents who are interested in learning about Gwynedd's brand new Crew program! Members of the administration, the Athletics Department, and Crew experts will be on hand to discuss program details and answer questions. If your daughter thinks she might want to "do Crew", this is the meeting for you! We look forward to seeing many of you on April 19 in the Performing Arts Center.
GOVERNMENT FIELD TRIP For the last month, Mrs. Carty's AP Comparative Government class has been studying Iran, learning about the political, social, and economic structure of the country of Iran. As a part of the AP curriculum, in their studies the girls also are exploring the comparable areas of study within Great Britain, Russia, China, Mexico, and Nigeria.
MUSIC DEPARTMENT Congratulations to Addie Olsen '18 and Anna Ridenour '20 who participated in PMEA Region Chorus Festival and Concert last week held at New Hope-Solebury H.S. The level of performance was extremely impressive for high school-aged students and we are so proud of our girls for their achievements this year. Anna Ridenour will continue on to perform at the All-State Orchestra Concert in Lancaster on April 21st.
The Music Department is sponsoring several events in April!
Take Me Out to the Ball Game! The Gwynedd Chorale has been invited to sing the national anthem at the Phillies game on April 24 at Citizens Bank Park! Please come out to support our amazing Chorale!
HONOR SOCIETY INDUCTIONS During the last week of March, the language teachers hosted a ceremony to award 13 girls getting inducted into the French Honor Society and the Spanish Honor Society. To be eligible, the girls had to have an honor average in the study of Spanish for three years, or a 93 average for two years in French. Congratulations to Lucy Glover '18, Kelsey Van Thuyne '19, Julianna Persia '20, Kathryn Tereshko '20, and Erin Stratton '21 for being admitted to the French Honor Society and Victoria Campell '20, Kiera Thomas '20, Lily Panunto '20, Caitlin Fitzpatrick '19, Christina Ludwig '19, Amy Casas '19, Isabella Petrone '19, and Michaela Guerin '19 for being admitted to the Spanish Honor Society. BASKETBALL Gwynedd Basketball Seniors- Bridget Casey, Molly Hutton, Maura Conroy, and Carly Heineman- were honored last night by the Markward Club at their annual awards dinner. Special recognition as given to Maura who received the Catholic Academies Player of the Year award. Congratulations, Ladies! #ReignLikeaMonarch

COMMUNITY NEWS Sponsored by Ambler Kiwanis, in conjunction with the Lower Gwynedd Police Department and Wissahickon School District: Parents are invited to this event that will provide a unique insight into the mind of a teenager. Drop in to the Wissahickon High School auditorium Thursday, April 19, anytime between 6-8PM. This program will show you what to look for in a teen's room that may be an indicator of drug use, abuse, or poor decision making. This is an integral step in identifying troubling behavior before crisis occurs. Please use this information to initiate conversations with your children. However, this program is for adults only.
