THANK YOU 7TH GRADE FAMILIES!

Thank you to all the 7th graders who sat for our practice test on April 28th or April 29th!  We hope your daughter left the practice test feeling more confident in preparing for the Entrance-Scholarship Exam this fall which will take place October 20th (with an alternate date on October 21st)! Be sure to mark your calendars now!

FINISH THE SCHOOL YEAR STRONG!

Remind your daughters...

Does she have a project or test coming up?  Encourage her to study hard and put forth her best effort! It is very important that she keep up with her school work, even at the end of the year! The subjects and lessons she learns in 5th, 6th, and 7th grades are the foundation of what she will learn in the future during high school.

*KEEP HER READING*

Reading for school assignments (and for fun) will help build your daughter's vocabulary and comprehension skills!

*KEEP HER WRITING*

As you well know, your daughter will need to have strong writing skills in order to be successful in high school and for her future! Encourage her to be attentive in ELA class. By keeping her writing skills sharp over the summer, she will strengthen her problem-solving and reasoning skills. Writing can be fun, too! It will allow your daughter to use her imagination and express herself creatively.

Mothers' Club President, 2017-18

Dear Parents,

I hope you are enjoying your daughter's final weeks in school. It is such a special time!  I know it is hard to fathom that in a few short years, they will start high school. As any high school parent will tell you, the 4 years of high school fly by so it is imperative to get involved right at the start. With this in mind, I encourage you to make the most of the new beginning the transition to high school offers. While I may be biased, I strongly advise that you get involved and join the Mothers' or Fathers' Club!

The Gwynedd Mothers' Club plays an essential role in our school community: supporting the mission and many traditions of our school, while meeting other moms and making new friends!  We have a full calendar of events- many are relaxed, social events designed to promote community and FUN!!  This is your personal invitation to attend an event- even if you don't know anyone!  We welcome all moms and guardians of Gwynedd girls, as they are automatically a member of the Mothers' Club!  And the same goes for dads and guardians with the  Fathers' Club! How easy is that?!  We would love the opportunity to get to know you and to help you explore ways to become involved that feel most comfortable to you.

Your daughter's 4 years of high school will be a time of great growth for your daughter. As a parent of 3 Gwynedd girls, I have witnessed what they can do and who they can become with the support of this school. This community has supported them in all areas: academics, athletics, leadership, service, social life. It gave them the confidence to move onto college with the knowledge and skills to excel there and beyond.  I know it can do the same for your daughter!

In the Mercy Spirit,

Janice Zipfel, (Casey '12, Shannon '17, Morgan '19)

Mothers' Club President, 2017-2018
