8th Grade Visitation Days

All 8th grade students who apply to Gwynedd are invited to come and spend the day with a Gwynedd Girl!  Students are able to attend up to 7 classes that vary in content, academic rigor, and teaching styles.  Students will have the opportunity to view all areas of learning and participate in clubs and/or school activities that may occur on the day of their visit! Our teachers love to engage visiting students by encouraging them to participate in class and join in on the conversation with the rest of the girls, to help them feel right at home.  In order to schedule a visit, students must submit an application to Gwynedd Mercy High Academy High School by the date of their visitation or October 19, 2018 (whichever comes first.)  Visitation Days run on select days from October to December, and registrations are honored on a first-come, first-served basis – reserve your spot today!

  • Monarch Match - While students are allowed to request to visit with a specific 9th grade Gwynedd Girl, we encourage students and their families to allow the Director of Enrollment Management to pair them with a hostess who has the same academic ability and shares the same interests.

  • The 8th Grade Visitation Day Form can be found via our Admissions Portal (link above).

  • School Schedule – Look at your school calendar and try and choose a day where your daughter has off.  This way she doesn't miss a full day while spending the day with us!

  • If you schedule a visit on a Friday, dismissal is at 2:30 pm…Happy Weekend!

Terri Fasano P'09, '16

Athletics Director

Participation in sports provides a learning environment, a way of life which exemplifies the philosophy that hard work, discipline, drive and determination bring eventual success.  Here at Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School, our athletic teams build each day on this philosophy and strive to follow the dream of the Sisters of Mercy foundress, Catherine McAuley, who in her own words expressed that dream:

"We have the privilege of knowing it,

We have the responsibility to understand it,

We have the duty to protect it and

We have the honor of living it."

As Athletic Director at Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School for the past 16 years, Terri Fasano has headed a coaching staff of 41 professionals who have guided great student athletes, participating in 14 Varsity and JV programs, to numerous championships and award-winning seasons. This legacy has continued to the collegiate level with generations of Gwynedd student-athletes performing at the top levels of in and out of their sport.  This year Alumna, Lauren Morton '04, was named head coach of Boston College's Women's Lacrosse Team.  With nearly two-thirds of the Gwynedd student body participating in the athletics program, and the rigor of collegiate sports more demanding than ever, Terri and the coaching staff seek opportunity to train, challenge, and prepare our student athletes.  The Gwynedd Athletics Department has expanded its program and facilities with the construction of a multi-sport complex-- which includes a synthetic turf field, track & field, and an enhanced natural grass field—and addition of a Crew team.

With the first of a multi-phase athletics enhancement plan complete, Gwynedd continuously strives to provide the most robust facilities and sports training programs, to give students the competitive edge needed to be recruited by top collegiate athletic programs. This fall, while 11 of our June graduates continue on to play in collegiate sports programs, Gwynedd's field hockey and soccer teams will compete on their new home turf, while Gwynedd Crew takes to the water! In fact, we invite you to join us for a home game at our multi-sport complex. Be sure to check out our Athletics Calendar for details. And keep an eye out for the red boats with red and gold oars when driving along the Schuylkill! They just might be filled with our Gwynedd MONARCHS!

Miss Mercy says, "Last chance to get your paws on this year's CK5K shirt!"

Join us September 22 for the annual CK5K, an event which raises funds to support the Carolyn Keen '10 Memorial Scholarship in the memory of Carolyn who lost her life in a car accident in her junior year. The scholarship is awarded each year to a rising junior at Gwynedd who, like Carolyn, has displayed admirable dedication and commitment to her school, and whose family will benefit from the assistance with her tuition. The CK5K Run/Walk welcomes runners and walkers of all levels and ages.
