SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 4, 2018

Gwynedd Mercy and the Mercy Education System of the Americas continue to join in prayer for the victims of the shooting at the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, for their families and for the entire Jewish community. Nonviolence, anti-racism, immigration – again and again we hear the need for these Mercy Critical Concerns in our world.

FROM THE DEAN OF STUDENTS:

Winter Uniform: Starting tomorrow, November 5th, students will begin wearing the winter uniform which consists of a navy sweater, white button-down shirt, plaid kilt, navy socks or tights and loafers.

STUDENTS AND STUDIES

VIRTUAL REALITY AT VILLANOVA!

Image

This week, AP Computer Science Principles students had virtually an amazing experience at Villanova University's Immersive Studies CAVE. As part of their exploration of technological innovations, the students enjoyed an immersive experience viewing and interacting with 3D virtual reality worlds in the CAVE. The CAVE is an 18 ft wide by 10 ft deep by 7.5 ft high, state of the art facility which opened in 2014, having been partially funded by a $1.67 million grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF).

Students also attended a presentation by students from Villanova's Chapter of Women in Computer Science. Gwynedd students learned about possible internship opportunities, about Villanova student life, co-ops and the potential careers for computer science majors.

An added bonus, during the students' visit, they were joined by Alumna and current Villanova student, Elizabeth Hasson '18, who couldn't pass up a chance to reconnect with her Gwynedd sisters!

FALL MUSICAL!

Gwynedd is proud to present Bye Bye Birdie; a high-energy, hilarious musical featuring an amazing cast!  Set in the 50's, a teen heartthrob, who is drafted, chooses an All-American girl for a very public farewell kiss.  The show features hit songs including "Put on a Happy Face", "One Last Kiss", "Kids!" and many more.

Come and share in the joy and laughter on November 9, 10, 16 & 17 at 7pm, and November 11 & 18 at 2pm. Tickets on sale now!
