STUDENTS AND STUDIES Honors Spanish 3 On Friday, Sra. Cheeseman's Honors Spanish 3 classes made a 'Busca de Tesoro' (Treasure Hunt) for their classmates using Formal Commands en español.
First, each partner group had to write out 10 steps for their fellow classmates to find the "treasure". Then the hunt began! A few of the teachers got involved along the way, including Mercy the dog! The students enjoyed the thrill of the search, and Mercy enjoyed her treats! Buen trabajo, chicas!
Seniors Mary Conn and Caitlin Fitzpatrick combined their passion for music and their technology expertise to create a TechShop for the amazing non-profit organization, TechGirlz® "Remix-U: Unleashing Your Inner DJ" will be offered on the GMAHS Campus, March 9, 2019 from 9:00 am to Noon.

BASKETBALL Following Saturday's 1/26 away game at North Penn High School, our Monarchs are finally home to finish off their final four games of the 2018-19 season.
The team is on a four-game winning streak with a thrilling double overtime 61-58 win over Nazareth Academy. This was followed by an offensive explosion of ten 3's in their 77-33 win over Villa Joseph Marie. The Varsity team currently is in 3rd place in the AACA League and looking to finish strong to capture a league playoff spot.
The team has some big home games on Tuesday, 1/29 against 1st place, undefeated St. Basil's and our Senior Day game on Thursday, 1/31 against the Mount.
Let's pack the gym on these dates and really show our Gwynedd Pride and home court advantage!
Help GMAHS Basketball Team beat cancer on the court!
With a streak of 3-pointers this week, GMAHS Basketball Team has climbed the chart to 6th in the nation! While we have surpassed our initial goal, we know we can do more.
We have 3 games left in January! Please consider joining the cause.
SWIMMING Gwynedd Mercy Swimming has started the season strong with a 4 and 0 record. Two of the four were against Catholic Academy teams Merion Mercy and Villa Joseph Marie. The team has qualified three relays and 10 individuals, many in multiple events, for district competition in March.
Some highlights from this weeks meets include freshman Madelyn Markey's 500 Freestyle (5:42.34), freshman Brynn Romberger's 200 Freestyle (2:05.05), Sophomore Mary Cirelli achieving qualifying times in both the 100 backstroke and the 100 butterfly, Junior Aileen Murray capturing first in the breaststroke in both of this week's meets, and senior Annie O'Dare coming from behind to win the 400 free relay (Fricker, Murray, Landry, O'Dare) clinching the team's win against Baldwin. The team of 29 swimmers practices before school three mornings a week and two evenings a week.
Stay tuned for more exciting news as the team competes against rivals Mount St. Joseph's Academy and Villa Maria Academy this week. Go Monarchs!
