Farewell message from outgoing Mothers’ Club President, Christina Persia P’20
On behalf of the Mother’s Club, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the mothers and guardians that volunteered this year to make our Mothers’ Club events such a success. It has been a wonderful experience for me personally to be able to make connections with so many awesome moms and guardians. As we know this year did not end as we had hoped for and there were events that did not come to fruition, but that does not overshadow all Mothers’ Club accomplished. Our attendance at most of the events was beyond impressive this year.
The Mothers’ Club welcome event in September brought out more moms and guardians than we have had over the past few years. The phenomenal Fashion Show sold 349 tickets, which again was the most tickets we have ever sold. The Fashion Show committee certainly did an impressive job bringing the Roaring 20’s to life. From start to finish the Fashion Show gave us an opportunity to come together, enjoy our beautiful girls modeling and grow the bond we have with our mothers, grandmothers and other important women in our life, that make our Gwynedd community so special. Another great event this year was our “new Mom’s Night Out”, so many moms joined us for a night of great fun. The Learning Commons was transformed into a wine and beer tasting event, with a fun scavenger hunt around the school.
My year as Mothers’ Club president was a wonderful experience. I was lucky to have met so many new moms and guardians, and I encourage you to come out and participate in the events next year. For those returning next year, you will be in good hands with Megan Plamondon as your new Mothers’ Club President and Christine Mele as your Vice President for our 2020-2021 school year. Megan is already hard at work getting her event chair positions filled and planning her calendar for another fantastic Mothers’ Club year. I urge all of you returning, to step out of your comfort zone and attend one of the many events we hold throughout the year. It is never too late to get involved.
As I think back to my freshman year, I remember how I almost didn’t come to the welcome back to school event in September. From that first meeting I was hooked on the spirit, love and commitment Gwynedd moms have for the girls, the school and our community. There is something for everyone. It just takes a leap of faith to join in and you will be surprised by the friendships you make and the wonderful women you will meet along the way. I thank you all for riding along with me on my journey in Gwynedd’s Mothers’ Club. I will surely miss being a part of it all, but I know a part of me will always be here in the red and gold hallways of Gwynedd forever.
Enjoy your summer and stay safe!

Farewell message from outgoing Fathers’ Club President, Mike O’Malley P’16, ’20
I wish to extend my gratitude to the entire Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School community for allowing me to serve as Fathers’ Club President these past 3 years. It has truly been a rewarding experience that I shall never forget. I consider myself genuinely lucky and blessed to have been a part of this amazing and wonderful group of outstanding individuals. I have met so many great people and established amazing friendships that will last a lifetime.
I would like to thank everyone who has participated in our meetings and events over the years and hope that all have enjoyed them as much as I have. The Phillies games and tailgates, cooking class, bowling, ice skating, and scavenger hunt were all great times that I personally will never forget. Thanks to all who have volunteered to serve meals at Face2Face in Germantown. I do regret that we had to cancel the last 3 months of service work there, along with missing out on the Phillies game and tailgate due to the horrible pandemic we are in. I hope and pray we will return to a normalcy soon.
As I leave this position and look towards the new school year, I know the stewardship of the Fathers’ Club is in the good and capable hands of our new President, Brett Keaton P’21. I am sure everyone will give Brett the same support and participation as I have received. Many thanks to our great Class Representatives from this past year, Paul Mullen, Brett Keaton, Tony Imbesi and Vince Valenzuela. Cheers and appreciation to everyone who volunteered and helped with all the many things I asked of you, such as Open House and Graduation parking, building the bars for McAuley Pub Night, sanding and painting the benches at the field, and anything else I may have forgotten. Great job one and all!
Finally, my sincerest gratitude to Jeannine Hartz, Colleen Belz Frascatore '89, the Advancement Office, Denise Corkey Marbach '72, Mary Kirby, Sr. Bernadette, and Sam Mancuso. These amazing people made my tenure possible and successful. Hope to see everyone around town as soon as we can all get back out.
