EITC and OSTC
Now it’s easier than ever to donate PA tax dollars to scholarships for Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School students! If you own or work in a business that pays Pennsylvania corporate taxes, please consider the EITC and OSTC PA tax programs. The EITC (Educational Improvement Tax Credit) and OSTC (Opportunity Scholarship Tax Credit) are state programs that allow your business to redirect tax dollars to Gwynedd in support of academic scholarships for qualified students.
What's the benefit for my business? One-time donors receive a 75% PA tax credit and donors who commit to two consecutive year gifts qualify for a 90% PA tax credit.
Do you pay Pennsylvania income taxes? Why not re-direct your tax dollars to Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School to provide scholarship dollars to qualifying current and future Gwynedd students in need of tuition assistance.
Thanks to a recent change in Pennsylvania law, you can make a substantial need-based scholarship donation to Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School at no cost to you through PA’s EITC (Educational Improvement Tax Credit) Program.
Since 2001, the EITC Program has allowed businesses to redirect tax dollars to Gwynedd in support of needs-based academic scholarships for students. Today, PA House Bill 91 enables you to redirect up to 100% of your personal state tax bill to Gwynedd through the same program by joining an LLC formed by Gwynedd’s EITC partner—BLOCS (Business Leaders Organized for Catholic Schools).
Additionally, a federal tax benefit is available to EITC participants through the new federal Tax Cuts and Job Act. Specifically, qualifying EITC participants can effectively turn limited state tax deductions into less limited charitable contribution deductions, save on federal income taxes, and provide tuition assistance to qualifying students at Gwynedd.
How do I apply? It is a SIMPLE process that involves a brief conversation and SIMPLE application from BLOCS. Click below to learn more about the EITC Program and its tax and cash savings.
