Gifts of Stock
There are many benefits to donating appreciated securities to Gwynedd Mercy: 1) you receive the same income tax savings you would if you wrote a check or made a credit card gift online, 2) you have the added benefit of eliminating capital gains taxes on the transfer, which can be as high as 20 percent, and 3) your dollar goes further than if you were to sell the stock and donate the cash because the money you would have paid in taxes can instead go fully to the Gwynedd, maximizing your philanthropic impact of our Mercy mission.
Making a gift of appreciated securities also is as easy as instructing your broker to transfer the shares. Below is the information you need to assist in facilitating your stock transfer:
Gwynedd Brokerage Firm: Charles Schwab
Gwynedd DTC #: 0164
Account Name: Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School
Account #: 84144426
Gwynedd Tax ID Number: 23-1740598
Prior to the transfer, please be sure to notify Colleen Belz Frascatore ’89, director of advancement, with the name of the stock and number of shares so Gwynedd can ensure your gift is received and processed accurately. Colleen can be reached at cfrascatore@gmahs.org or 267-946-0948.
For tax year end, stock gifts need to be deposited into Gwynedd’s brokerage account before end of business (the NYSE closes at 4 PM) on December 30 for your gift to be tax deductible for 2022.

Planned Gifts
Planned gifts are wonderful and easy ways through which you can support Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School as we strive to educate, inspire, and empower our young women in the tradition of Catherine McAuley, the foundress of the Sisters of Mercy.
Created in 2013, the Catherine McAuley Legacy Society is a group of Gwynedd alumnae, parents, faculty, staff, and friends who have pledged legacy gifts to support the mission of the School by naming Gwynedd in their will, trust, or other estate plans. Donors of all income levels are represented, and their membership alone demonstrates their deep commitment to ensuring Gwynedd’s mission to educate, inspire, and empower young women to be merciful in spirit, innovative in thought, and courageous in leadership.
If you have already named Gwynedd in your will or trust, or as a beneficiary of a retirement plan, life insurance or other asset, thank you. We invite you to fill out Gwynedd's Planned Gift Intention Form and return it to Gwynedd so we can welcome you as one of the Society’s newest members.
If this is something you haven’t yet done, please consider leaving a legacy reflective of your appreciation for Gwynedd. Making a planned gift is a wonderful way to create a legacy, and costs nothing today. Many people are surprised to learn they can make a meaningful gift just by adding a few words to their written will, designating Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School.
